AKBAR'S presented the £25,000 treat to Mosiac Charity on the 7 March 2013.

Shabir Hussain at the Akbar's Cafe Bradford presented the money raised at a fundraising dinner to Mosaic’s national director Jonathan Freeman.

Shabir Hussain, owner of the restaurant in Leeds Road, Bradford, said: “I’m thrilled to be able to present this cheque. This is the first time we’ve worked with Mosaic.

“We were very impressed by their important work and look forward to working with them in the future.”

Sarah Khan-Bashir, co-chairman of Mosaic’s regional leadership group for Yorkshire, said: “The money raised will provide mentoring support for 770 disadvantaged children and young people, it will support 25 primary and secondary schools and go towards training and supporting 150 volunteer mentors in the region. When you break it down like that, it’s not hard to see why we’re celebrating here today.”

Mosiac Charity was founded by the Prince of Wales in 2007.
