Akbar’s, restaurant winners of the King of Curry Awards, hosted a glamorous star-studded evening in aid of the Lord Mayors Charity Marie Curie on Thursday 26th January at the Hilton Hotel, Hall Ings, Bradford.

The evening was hosted by BBC Asian Network presenter Tommy Sandhu. The evening started with a 3-course cuisine created exclusively by Akbar’s to match the ambience of the evening, followed by a breathtaking fashion show by award-winning designers Silon’s, matched with glamorous hair and make-up by Zaiba Khan, and exquisite choreography by Bollywood choreographer Kuntal.

Guests were entertained throughout the evening by entertainment at its best, rap duo Metz 7 Trix, Rishi Rich, H. Dhami, Juggy D, Romy Shay, Surinder Rattan, Joga Singh and talented duo from Britan’s Got Talent Signature. The evening ended with Imran Khan rocking the stage with his greatest hits.

The evening gave guests and sponsors the opportunity to give something to the much needed  and unfortunate individuals of this world by raising £50,000 for Marie Curie, a UK-based charity which works to help make a real difference  for terminally-ill patients.

But the generosity of Akbar’s and the sponsors does not  stop there, Monday 6th February through to 20th February will see a live auction of prizes donated for the cause on Akbar’s official website www.akbars.co.uk for all who were either present or not present to give their support to this worthy charity.

So let the bidding begin.
